MF Doom has achieved a significant milestone, as his iconic 2004 album Mm..Food enters the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart at No. 5, marking the late rapper’s first solo top 10 appearance. This surge follows the release of a 20th-anniversary edition of the album on November 30, which saw the project earn 31,000 equivalent units in the tracking week ending November 21, according to Luminate.
The anniversary edition of Mm..Food, released under Rhymesayers Entertainment, brought in 27,000 traditional album sales, giving Doom the highest sales week of his career. This strong sales performance also propelled the album to No. 5 on the Top Album Sales chart, where Doom earned his first-ever top 10 placement and achieved his highest career rank.
Delving deeper into the sales breakdown, 26,500 of the units sold came from physical versions of the album, including a standout 22,000 vinyl sales. This surge in vinyl demand propelled Mm..Food to a new peak at No. 2 on the Vinyl Albums chart. The remaining 500 units came from digital album sales, further cementing the album’s enduring legacy and popularity among both old and new fans.
