Travis Scott’s Circus Maximus tour has made history, becoming the highest-grossing rap tour of all time, despite skipping his hometown of Houston. The Houston-born artist wrapped up his yearlong tour last month with a record-breaking $209.3 million in gross sales and 1.7 million tickets sold across 76 dates. No other rapper has achieved such a monumental feat on a single tour.
The Circus Maximus tour outperformed Scott’s previous Astroworld tour in virtually every category. On average, he sold 53% more tickets per show (22,494 vs. 14,692) and charged 65% more per ticket ($122.46 vs. $74.43). The tour not only sold more than double the number of tickets as Astroworld (1.7 million vs. 808,000) but also grossed over three times as much ($209.3 million vs. $60.1 million).
With Circus Maximus, Scott set a new benchmark for success in hip-hop touring, further cementing his place among rap’s elite. The only other rapper to come close to the 1 million-ticket threshold is 50 Cent, whose The Final Lap Tour surpassed 1 million tickets sold in 2023.
