Lil Wayne reached out to Kendrick Lamar after the Compton rapper name-dropped him on the track “Wacced Out Murals” from his recent GNX release. According to Joe Budden, Wayne attempted to connect with Lamar to clarify the intent behind the mention. However, Budden claimed that Lamar did not respond to the call.
“I’m hearing that somebody picked up the phone and tried to call and see what the energy was,” Budden said. “I’m hearing that Kendrick didn’t answer. If I’m calling you rapper to rapper and you don’t answer…”
The alleged lack of response from Lamar has sparked speculation about the state of the two rappers’ relationship, adding another layer to the ongoing tensions within the hip-hop community.
