This Thanksgiving, country music star Lainey Wilson will take center stage during the Dallas Cowboys halftime show, continuing the tradition of raising awareness for the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign. Since 1997, the annual Thanksgiving halftime show has been a powerful fundraising tool, with over $3 billion raised to support families in need during the holiday season.
The halftime performance is not only a showcase of star power but a vital platform to highlight the growing need for charitable support in the U.S. during the holidays. Charlotte Jones, Chief Brand Officer and co-owner of the Dallas Cowboys, is credited with the innovative approach that has brought some of the biggest names in music to the stage, from Reba McEntire to Dolly Parton.
This year, Wilson, the reigning CMA and ACM Entertainer of the Year, will trade her signature bell bottoms for a bell ringing, as she teams up with the Cowboys and the Salvation Army for a special performance. “I’m so excited and honored. Just very thankful, tis the season,” Wilson shared with NBC5. “This is a big moment for me and my crew, and especially to be teamed up with the Cowboys and Salvation Army. It’s truly an honor.”
Charlotte Jones praised Wilson’s talent, calling her one of the best live performers she’s ever seen, adding, “It’s about huge entertainment, excitement, and capturing that audience with heart. This performance is not just about giving a great show, but inspiring people to give to the Salvation Army and embrace the cause behind it.”
With her dynamic stage presence and heartfelt passion, Lainey Wilson’s performance will undoubtedly shine as both an entertainment spectacle and a call to action for those watching across the nation.
