Doja Cat has set the internet abuzz with cryptic posts that suggest her highly anticipated fifth album is on the way. The pop-rap sensation, who released Scarlet in 2023, has fueled speculation with a series of intriguing teasers that hint at fresh material.
The mystery began in late October when Doja wiped her X (formerly Twitter) account clean, leaving behind a single word: “album.” Then, in early November, she shared a list of 13 possible track titles on the platform, which fans quickly speculated were part of the upcoming album’s tracklist. However, she swiftly deleted the post, keeping fans on edge. Among the listed titles were “Cards,” “Acts of Service,” “Make It Up,” “Did I Lie,” and “Crack,” with Doja noting that the songs were not listed in order. Five of these tracks were marked as her personal favorites.
Further building the suspense, Doja posted three short videos on November 30, offering tantalizing glimpses of her new music. In the first video, captioned “Let’s talk about it,” she begins to speak but cuts the clip short. A second video, captioned “my bad yall,” shows Doja apologizing for teasing fans, saying, “I’ve just been like fucking with you guys this entire time… I apologize for that.”
Despite the playful teasing, fans remain eager for more details as Doja continues to keep her new project under wraps. Her last album, Scarlet, received mixed reviews, with NME describing it as “overlong” and “slightly repetitive,” though ultimately “compelling” in its message of artistic independence. As the anticipation builds, all eyes are now on Doja’s next move, with many wondering what direction her fifth album will take.
