Mississippi has once again made its mark on country music, with Grenada County’s own Charlie Worsham winning Musician of the Year at the 2024 CMA Awards.
The award is a milestone in Worsham’s decade-long career, which has seen him release two albums and collaborate with major artists such as Luke Combs, Dierks Bentley, and Taylor Swift. Reflecting on his achievement, Worsham expressed his awe, saying, “I can’t accurately put it into words… there’s no other feeling like it.”
Despite his success, Worsham emphasized that his journey has been anything but easy. “For anybody who hears this, who has a dream like this, it’s a great reminder of why you just gotta keep going and trust the process,” he said.
Throughout his career, Worsham has maintained a deep connection to his Mississippi roots, often incorporating his heritage into his music. “I’ve always been proud to tell people where I grew up and why it’s so important to me,” he shared.
