Drake has emerged victorious in the battle for Spotify streams, surpassing Kendrick Lamar as the most-streamed rapper globally in 2024. On December 4, Spotify unveiled its year-end statistics as part of the annual Spotify Wrapped campaign, with Drake securing the fourth spot overall, trailing only Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, and Bad Bunny.
In addition to ranking as the highest-streaming rapper worldwide, Drake also claimed the title of most-streamed rapper in the U.S., coming in second overall behind Swift. Kendrick Lamar, on the other hand, ranked seventh on the U.S. list, following behind other major artists including Zach Bryan, Morgan Wallen, and Kanye West.
While Drake dominated on Spotify, Kendrick Lamar held his own on Apple Music, where his diss track “Not Like Us” claimed the title of the most-played track worldwide for 2024.
Spotify’s announcement came on December 3, as the platform rolled out its Top Songs of 2024: Global playlist, with Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” and Post Malone’s collaboration with Morgan Wallen, “I Had Some Help,” rounding out the top five.
