Ella Langley’s You Look Like You Love Me, featuring Riley Green, has made a remarkable leap to the top of the Billboard Country Airplay chart, reaching No. 1 in the Dec. 14-dated rankings. The song surged from No. 7 to No. 1, marking a six-spot jump—the third-largest leap to the top in the chart’s nearly 35-year history. From Nov. 29 to Dec. 5, the track saw an 18% increase in audience impressions, reaching 26.5 million, according to Luminate.
This achievement marks Langley’s first-ever Country Airplay No. 1 with her second chart entry. Her earlier song, Strangers, a collaboration with Kameron Marlowe, peaked at No. 56 in July. For Green, this marks his second chart-topping hit, following his featured role on Thomas Rhett’s Half of Me, which reached No. 1 for a week in November 2022.
Langley’s rise to the top also represents a significant moment for women in country music. She is the first woman to top the chart as a lead artist since Lainey Wilson in October 2023 with Watermelon Moonshine. This ends a 51-week gap between women (including groups with prominent female vocals) topping the chart, marking the longest such break since a 61-week drought in 2003-04.
In other notable chart movements, Morgan Wallen’s Loves Somebody climbs 11-9, earning him his 18th Country Airplay top 10 hit. The song, which saw a 10% increase in audience impressions, is the second single from his upcoming album. Meanwhile, Tucker Wetmore’s Wind Up Missin’ You enters the top 10 for the first time, jumping 12-10, marking the singer-songwriter’s first appearance in the upper ranks.
All Billboard charts for the week of Dec. 14 will be updated on Tuesday, Dec. 10.
