After more than 20 years, legendary American progressive metal band Savatage is making their long-awaited return to the stage, announcing their first headline shows since 2002.
The iconic band, which includes members Zak Stevens, John Lee Middleton, Chris Caffery, Jeff Plate, and Al Pitrelli, will headline a series of shows across Europe in June 2025. The tour kicks off on June 14 in Oberhausen, Germany, at the Turbinenhalle, followed by performances in London, Zurich, Munich, and Milan. This marks a major milestone in Savatage’s storied career, and fans across the continent are eagerly anticipating the chance to witness the band’s historic return to the live stage.
Singer Zak Stevens expressed the emotional significance of the tour, stating, “We get to play a series of headline shows for the first time in over twenty years, right in front of all the unbelievable fans who have supported us over the last three decades. This is our chance to directly give back to everyone who’s been there with us.”
In addition to these headline performances, Savatage will also perform at several major festivals, including the Into The Grave Festival in the Netherlands (June 13), Graspop Metal Meeting in Belgium (June 22), Rockfest in Barcelona (June 26), and Rockwave Festival in Greece (June 28).
Stevens added, “All the great festival shows are going to be off-the-charts amazing. It’s hard to even imagine the scale of excitement that’s going to take place at these events.” Fans can expect an unforgettable experience as Savatage brings their epic blend of progressive metal back to Europe for the first time in over a decade.
