Country music icon Dolly Parton is embracing the festive spirit with her signature love of music. The 78-year-old legend shared that her holiday celebrations are filled with Christmas tunes — and lots of them.
“Well, you know I love all the Christmas songs,” Parton said. “I love the fast ones, I love the slow ones. I love ‘Silent Night’ and ‘O Little Town of Bethlehem,’ but then I love ‘Rudolph’ and all of those fun things. I just love all of that.”
To keep the music flowing throughout her home, Parton relies on modern technology. “We all have either an Alexa or Siri or one of those kinds of things,” she explained. “I just always holler out, ‘Alexa, play holiday music for 12 hours in my house,’ or something like that, and I just like all of it.”
Her love for the holidays extends beyond music. Parton recently released Billy the Kid Comes Home for Christmas, a sequel to her 2023 children’s book Billy the Kid Makes It Big. The heartwarming story continues the adventures of Billy, a dog inspired by the real-life pet of singer-songwriter Billy Ray Cyrus.
With her timeless charm and enduring holiday spirit, Parton once again reminds fans why she’s a beloved figure in music, literature, and Christmas cheer.
