This weekend, Warsaw will continue its cherished holiday tradition by welcoming country and Christian music stars for the 11th annual A Country Christmas with Susie McEntire concert at Lakeview Middle School auditorium.
Susie McEntire, Reba McEntire’s younger sister, will headline the event, marking another year of festive music and heartwarming performances. Susie, who found success in Christian music, is excited to return to the stage and share the holiday spirit with her friends and fans in Warsaw. Reflecting on her childhood, Susie fondly recalls, “It was a joy being around her when we were young. We were the little girls and then we started singing together.”
Joining Susie on stage is country music legend Janie Fricke, who is particularly excited to return to her roots. “This is my home turf area. I grew up just a few miles from Warsaw,” said Fricke, who will perform in the area for the first time in the Christmas concert series. “It’s going to be great. Great to be home.”
Also performing are country stars Linda Davis and Keenie Word Moore, both of whom have appeared in Warsaw in the past. Moore, who knows firsthand the importance of community support, shared her own experience growing up with a single mother. “My dad passed away when I was 11 years old… My mom worked many jobs trying to afford groceries, the light bill, heat, let alone Christmas presents.”
The concert is free to attend, but guests are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy for the Toys for Tots charity, ensuring that children in need receive gifts this holiday season. “There’s a lot of kids out there that won’t get presents. The Marines and the Toys for Tots are the ones that are going to get these much-needed presents to these children,” said Susie McEntire.
In addition to the evening concert, Susie and Keenie will host the Warsaw Pamper Me event earlier in the day. The concert promises to be a heartwarming event, celebrating community and giving back during the holiday season.
