BTS’ Jungkook continued his reign as a global K-pop powerhouse, securing two major awards at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards, despite being unable to attend due to his ongoing mandatory military enlistment.
On December 13, the Billboard Music Awards revealed this year’s winners, and Jungkook claimed the titles for Top K-pop Album with GOLDEN and Top Global K-pop Song with the album’s hit track, “Standing Next to You.” These wins add to his growing list of accolades, further cementing his status as one of the most successful K-pop solo artists of his generation.
Although Jungkook was unable to attend the ceremony in person on December 12 due to his military duties, his absence did little to dampen his impact. In 2023, he had already won Top Global K-pop Song with “Seven,” the pre-release single from GOLDEN.
In a message shared on BTS’ official X (formerly Twitter) account, BIGHIT MUSIC expressed gratitude to the ARMYs for their continuous support, helping Jungkook maintain his dominant position in the global music scene.
