UK-based metal band God Complex has officially signed with SharpTone Records and celebrated the milestone with the release of their brutal new single, “Salt and Ash.” The track, which starts with a subtle build-up, quickly erupts into a violent sonic assault.
“We’re thrilled to be working with SharpTone on this release,” the band shared. “We’ve had longstanding friendships with several bands on the label and have always admired their vision and support for their artists. We’re humbled to join such an incredible roster and excited to begin this new chapter for the band.”
“Salt and Ash” picks up where God Complex’s previous album left off, featuring a reprise of the melody from the track “Worthy Host” that closed their last record. “We wanted to show that, in a sense, we’re picking up exactly where we left off, while tying the new songs to our past work,” the band explained.
However, the song quickly shifts gears, plunging into total chaos to reflect the band’s refusal to stay stagnant. The title, “Salt and Ash,” symbolizes a sense of finality and destruction—“the emptiness left behind when everything has been destroyed,” according to God Complex. The track marks an intense evolution in their sound as they continue to push boundaries in the metal genre.
