Toby Keith’s legendary career continues to be celebrated even after his passing in February, as the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) awarded him two posthumous Gold and Platinum certifications on December 17.
The country music icon received Platinum certification for his hits “God Love Her” and “American Ride,” each surpassing 1 million units in sales. Meanwhile, “Cryin’ for Me (Wayman’s Song)” and “Trailerhood” were both certified Gold, recognizing 500,000 units sold.
Keith’s posthumous success continues to grow, with his album 35 Biggest Hits topping both the Billboard Top 200 and Top Country Albums charts following his death. He also made history by becoming the first artist to occupy nine of the Top 10 spots on the Billboard Country Digital Songs chart simultaneously.
These new accolades from the RIAA highlight Keith’s enduring legacy and the continued popularity of his music among fans, ensuring his creative spirit remains alive in the hearts of country music lovers.
