Legendary rock band Jethro Tull is set to perform their highly anticipated second concert in Cyprus at the Pattihio Municipal Theatre in Larnaca on Monday, September 22, 2025.
Founded in 1968 and led by the iconic Ian Anderson, Jethro Tull revolutionized rock music by making the flute a signature instrument. The band’s current lineup includes Anderson alongside Jack Clark (guitar, vocals), Scott Hammond (drums), John O’Hara (keyboards, vocals), and David Goodier (bass, vocals).
Originally formed in Luton, north of London, the band’s early blues-influenced sound led to performances across South England’s pub circuit before securing a residency at the renowned Marquee Club in London. Their debut album This Was (1968) marked the beginning of a remarkable journey.
Jethro Tull’s innovative fusion of rock, folk, jazz, and classical music was solidified with their 1969 breakthrough Stand Up, and continued through monumental albums like Benefit (1970), Aqualung (1971), and Thick As A Brick (1972). By the mid-1970s, they were on par with the biggest acts of the era, including Led Zeppelin, Elton John, and The Rolling Stones.
Their most recent album, RökFlöte (2023), was inspired by Nordic mythology and showcases the band’s ability to blend rock with classical and folk influences. With over 30 albums and more than 60 million records sold worldwide, Jethro Tull continues to innovate while maintaining the distinct sound that has earned them a global following.
