Drake Teases New Music After Kendrick Lamar Rap Beef

by Barbara

After laying low following his perceived rap defeat to Kendrick Lamar, Drake is once again teasing new music. The Toronto superstar, recently crowned the most-streamed rapper on Spotify and a triple winner at the Billboard Music Awards, took to Instagram with a cryptic post suggesting that fresh tracks are on the horizon.

The post featured a photo of his longtime producer, Noah “40” Shebib, working on a new song in front of a Christmas-decked fireplace. With his laptop open and clearly focused on the music, Shebib was captured in his creative element. Drake’s caption read, “Strong winds from the north,” sparking speculation among fans that new material is imminent.

This marks the first indication of new music from Drake, much to the relief of fans still eagerly awaiting the rumored collaborative album with PARTYNEXTDOOR. Last month, Drake confirmed during a live stream with xQc that the joint album was in the works.

Drake’s last full project, For All the Dogs, dropped in October 2023 and featured hits like “Rich Baby Daddy” and “First Person Shooter.” However, much of his time in 2024 has been overshadowed by his ongoing rap feud with Lamar.

While it seems Drake is ready to drop new tunes, his ongoing lawsuit against Universal Music Group (UMG) could delay things. The rapper is accusing the company of inflating the success of Lamar’s track “Not Like Us,” among other claims. UMG has denied all allegations.
