Christmas came early for Koe Wetzel and Jessie Murph, as the rising stars of country music secured their first-ever #1 hit on the country charts with their collaboration, “High Road.”
Wetzel shared the exciting news with fans via Instagram, posting, “#1 on Country Radio.. @jessiemurphhh.” The achievement marks a significant milestone for both artists, whose genre-defying styles have resonated with a wide audience.
Country artist George Birge, who recently claimed his second #1 with “Cowboy Songs,” congratulated the duo, commenting, “TX boys on top, congrats bubba.”
Jessie Murph also celebrated the achievement on Instagram, sharing a carousel post that included a screenshot of a Billboard article. The piece highlighted Murph’s historic achievement as the first woman in a lead role to top the charts with a rookie entry since Gabby Barrett’s “I Hope” in 2020.
“High Road” is featured on Wetzel’s latest album 9 Lives, available now. For those looking to add a festive touch to their playlists, Wetzel also released his holiday album, Koe Wetzel Presents… Wetzel’s Wonderland Chapter 2, earlier this month.
