Vallejo rap music star and entrepreneur LaRussell has dropped an inspiring new music video for his original track E.L.I.T.E., created as a theme song for his daughter’s school, ELITE Public Schools.
The song, named after the charter school, features contributions from students ranging from grade school to high school, who helped write the verses in just a few hours. Their voices are woven throughout the track, infusing it with an uplifting energy.
“My thing was to just say things that feel good and fun to say,” LaRussell explained. “They are ingesting it into their body, not knowing that it’s affirmations. They’re really just affirming themselves through the day.”
Founded six years ago, ELITE Public Schools prides itself on fostering a culturally responsible environment for its predominantly students of color. Dr. Ramona Bishop, CEO of the school, emphasized the broader impact of the song, stating, “This is not just for ELITE. This is for all students worldwide. It will be a daily impact. I can do anything, I can be anything if I just follow the code.”
Released just last week, the track has already gone viral on social media, resonating deeply with listeners and spreading the message of self-empowerment.
