Wayne Osmond, a key member of the iconic family band The Osmonds, has passed away at the age of 73. Known for his talents as a singer, guitarist, and songwriter, Wayne played a pivotal role in shaping the band’s sound and success during the 1970s.
Wayne co-wrote several of The Osmonds’ biggest hits, including Crazy Horses, Goin’ Home, and Let Me In. His contributions to the music world, however, went beyond his songwriting skills—his warmth and optimism made a lasting impact on those around him.
In a heartfelt tribute, his brother Donny Osmond described Wayne as “the ultimate optimist,” adding that he brought “so much light, laughter, and love” to everyone he encountered. “He was loved by everyone,” Donny wrote, reflecting on Wayne’s infectious spirit.
Merrill Osmond, another brother and fellow band member, also praised Wayne for his musical genius. “He was able to capture the hearts of millions of people and bring them closer to God,” Merrill shared. “I’ve never known a man that had more humility… A man with absolute no guile. An individual that was quick to forgive and had the ability to show unconditional love to everyone he ever met.”
The Osmond family confirmed that Wayne’s passing was the result of a stroke. His legacy, however, will live on through the timeless music he helped create.
