A new country music festival, Dusty Vaquero Days, is set to take over the Cam-plex Central Pavilion on May 30 and 31, bringing together top country artists with ties to agriculture and ranching.
The festival is the brainchild of J.B. Zielke, a Wyoming cowboy with a global background, who has spent the last few years showcasing musicians from agricultural backgrounds on his Dusty Vaquero YouTube channel. Zielke, along with Ryan Klein, owner of Gold Towne Music, has worked to create an event that celebrates both country music and the ranching lifestyle.
Klein, who manages several artists, including Kellen Smith, said about half of the 25 artists slated to perform at the festival have already been announced. The lineup includes Kellen Smith, Sam and Tris Munsick, Carson Jeffrey, The Lowdown Drifters, Kenny Feidler, and Dave Stamey, with more regional and national acts to be revealed soon.
“This event brings together musicians with a deep connection to agriculture and ranching,” Klein said. “We thought it’d be great to get everyone in one place to play music and celebrate this shared lifestyle.”
Zielke echoed the sentiment, emphasizing that every artist performing at Dusty Vaquero Days either works as a cowboy or has a strong connection to ranching. “I’m just happy to be a part of an event that celebrates not only talented musicians, but also the things that make them who they are today,” he said.
