Experimental rap music trio clipping. has unveiled their upcoming album, Dead Channel Sky, set for release on March 14. To give fans a taste of what’s to come, the group dropped the single “Change the Channel” today, with a music video slated for release soon.
Dead Channel Sky marks a departure from clipping.’s previous horrorcore albums, There Existed an Addiction to Blood (2019) and Visions of Bodies Being Burned (2020). Described as a “cyberpunk and hip-hop project,” the album introduces a more techno-influenced sound, while maintaining the group’s signature experimental edge. The album is characterized as “mixtape-like,” offering a fragmented concept rather than a cohesive narrative.
The track “Change the Channel” exemplifies the album’s cyberpunk urgency, while recent singles “Run It” and “Keep Pushing” will also feature on the tracklist.
In support of the album, clipping. will embark on a West Coast tour this spring, kicking off in March and running through May. The tour will include a stop in Vancouver on May 1. See the full tour schedule below.
