Gene Simmons Expands Solo Tour, Adds New Dates Across U.S.

by Barbara

Rock legend Gene Simmons has announced additional dates for his upcoming solo tour, confirming 19 shows across April and May. The KISS icon will perform in new locations including Anaheim, CA, Magna, UT, and Rockford, IL, with tickets available through the Gene Simmons Band website.

The newly added shows are part of a broader tour that features Simmons alongside his solo band, which includes guitarist Brent Woods (known for his work with Sebastian Bach and Vince Neil), guitarist Jason Walker, and drummer Brian Tichy (formerly of Whitesnake and Billy Idol).

Simmons, who is known for his signature bass-playing style, shared in a recent Guitar World interview the reasoning behind choosing bass as his instrument of choice. “When I was a kid, I noticed that everybody wanted to be a guitar player, and I did initially learn to play a few chords,” he explained. “But I picked up bass because there were fewer bass players, and it increased my chances of being in a band—which is what I really wanted.”

In the same interview, Simmons also emphasized his straightforward approach to playing bass. “I was never really interested in being a bass virtuoso,” he said. “I don’t like showoffs in music. I’m much more attracted to things that are memorable.”
