The beloved Australian children’s group The Wiggles is adding a country twist to their discography with their upcoming album Wiggle Up, Giddy Up!, set for release on March 7.
This exciting new project features collaborations with several country music stars, including Dolly Parton, Dasha, Lainey Wilson, Jackson Dean, Orville Peck, MacKenzie Porter, and Lucky Oceans. It also highlights contributions from notable country artists from Australia and New Zealand, such as Morgan Evans, Troy Cassar-Daley, Travis Collins, Kaylee Bell, The Wolfe Brothers, and the late Slim Dusty.
The album’s title track features a performance by Dasha, a country artist known for her hit “Austin (Boots Stop Workin’)” and her 2024 album What Happens Now?
In a statement, Anthony Field, co-founder of The Wiggles, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “Country music is all about storytelling and connection, and combining that with The Wiggles’ fun and imagination felt like the perfect match.”
Lachy Gillespie, also a member of the group, added, “We’re so excited to share ‘Wiggle Up, Giddy Up!’—it’s packed with energy, fun, and plenty of country flair, perfect for families of all ages to enjoy!”
This marks a return to country for The Wiggles, who previously released a country-themed album Cold Spaghetti Western in 2004. The group will also be hitting the road this summer, with their Bouncing Balls Tour running from June 1 to July 6 in the United States.
