Kip Moore is set to release Solitary Tracks on February 28, marking his first album with Virgin Music Group, following the ‘80s-inspired sound of his 2023 album Damn Love. The Georgia country singer offers a preview of the upcoming project with his new single “Bad Spot,” a deeply personal song about a failed relationship.
In the Casey Beathard-penned track, Moore takes responsibility for the breakup, singing, “I lost you in a bad spot.” The song is one of 23 on Solitary Tracks, the only one Moore didn’t write himself. A music video for the track debuted on Friday.
Produced by Moore, Jaren Johnston of Cadillac Three, Oscar Charles, and Jay Joyce, Solitary Tracks is a departure from any formulaic approach. Moore emphasizes authenticity in his music, saying, “I’m never going to cheat by just trying to write what I think people want to hear… I always hope people find a little solace.” The album promises to take listeners on a personal journey of self-discovery and emotional healing.
