Fat Joe is back in the rap game, and he credits Grammy-winning artist Killer Mike for reigniting his passion for music. The Bronx legend revealed that Killer Mike’s victorious night at the 2024 Grammy Awards played a crucial role in his decision to release his latest album, The World Changed on Me.
After Killer Mike swept the awards, taking home Best Rap Album, Best Rap Song, and Best Rap Performance, Joe felt compelled to pick up the mic again. “He’s the guy who inspired me,” Joe said. Reflecting on his time away from the industry, Joe explained that he had been retired, despite an emotional phone call from Eminem urging him to return. “I was done,” Joe admitted, but Killer Mike’s success rekindled the fire to make music once more.
