Dan Donegan, guitarist for Disturbed, recently opened up about the band’s career, their creative process, and shared his personal favorite track from their extensive catalog.
When asked about his favorite Disturbed song, Donegan admitted it’s difficult to pick just one given the deeply personal nature of their music. However, he highlighted “The Light” as a standout track. He explained, “We like to take darker subject matter and spin a positive outcome on it—whether it’s dealing with depression, addiction, or personal loss, we want to offer empowerment and encouragement.”
Donegan went on to elaborate on the song’s powerful message, noting, “The big catchphrase in that song is ‘sometimes darkness can show you the light.’ Sometimes, you need those dark moments in life to find the strength to push through and find the light again.”
In addition to reflecting on his music, Donegan shared insightful advice for aspiring musicians, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and personal authenticity in their craft.
