Irv Gotti, the influential co-founder of Murder Inc. Records and a key figure in shaping the careers of Ja Rule and Ashanti, has passed away at the age of 54. The music mogul died after suffering a stroke.

Gotti, born Domingo Lorenzo Jr., established Murder Inc. in 1998 alongside his brother Chris as an imprint under Def Jam Records.
