Norwegian progressive metal band Hypermass has announced their upcoming EP, Apparition Day, set for release in March 2025 via Seek & Strike. Serving as the follow-up to 2023’s Empyrean, the new record promises to push the band’s signature sound to new extremes.

Mixed by Dave Otero (Aborted, Cattle Decapitation), Apparition Day amplifies Hypermass’ dynamic blend of grooves, melodies, and technical precision while incorporating elements of jazz, blues, and electronic music. Thematically, the EP builds upon Empyrean, exploring the human condition in the modern world, particularly the growing reliance on artificial intelligence and its impact on creativity and social interaction.

“This EP has been in the works for quite some time, and we’re truly excited to bring it to life,” the band shared. “Our goal is always to push our music forward while keeping things fresh and staying true to our sound.”

Alongside the announcement, Hypermass has released a music video for their latest single, “Headcase”, offering fans a first glimpse into the EP’s sonic evolution.
