After an extensive open-call audition process, Primus has officially announced John Hoffman as their new drummer.
The band launched a worldwide search for a replacement after the unexpected departure of longtime drummer Tim Alexander in October, calling the split a “complete shock” in a social media statement. Primus invited drummers from across the globe to submit applications for the coveted position.

The search has now concluded, with Hoffman, a Shreveport, Louisiana-based drummer known for his strong YouTube following, securing the role.
