2NE1, the iconic K-pop girl group, has returned to Taiwan as part of their 2024-2025 “Welcome Back” reunion tour, selling out two highly anticipated shows. The concerts, held on Saturday and Sunday at the National Taiwan Sports University Arena in Taoyuan, marked the group’s first full performance together in Taiwan in 11 years.
This reunion follows Dara’s solo performance in Taiwan, where she performed at Kaohsiung’s New Year’s Eve party in the past. The K-pop legends, who formed in 2009, are made up of Dara, Bom, CL, and Minzy. Despite their hiatus in 2015 and Minzy’s departure in 2016, the group’s cultural impact is undeniable, having dominated the K-pop scene and globally, breaking records along the way.
Their 2014 album “Crush” made history, becoming the highest-ranking K-pop album on the Billboard 200 at the time. Billboard even named 2NE1 the second-best K-pop girl group of the 2010s.
Following the Taiwan dates, the reunion tour will continue to Vietnam, Macao, Seoul, and Los Angeles, delighting fans around the world. Additionally, Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-mai has extended an invitation for the group to perform in Kaohsiung, although no further Taiwan concerts have been confirmed.
