Fontaines D.C. have unveiled It’s Amazing To Be Young, marking their first new release since their fourth studio album, Romance, debuted last August. Produced by James Ford, the track captures the band’s signature sound while offering a fresh twist.
The new single will be available as a limited edition 7” vinyl on April 18, accompanied by another new track titled Before You I Just Forget. Preorders for the release are now open on the Dublin band’s website.
Bassist Conor Deegan III shared that It’s Amazing To Be Young was written while guitarist Carlos O’Connell’s child was present, noting that the song initially felt more like a lullaby or music box tune, with its central lyric, “It’s amazing to be young,” remaining unchanged.
Romance marked a milestone for the band, landing their fourth consecutive top 10 studio album in the U.K. and reaching No. 97 on the Billboard 200, their highest-charting album in the U.S. to date.
