Playboi Carti’s I Am Music album is quickly becoming one of the most anticipated projects of 2025, but fans are growing frustrated with the rapper’s ongoing cryptic promotion. Recently, billboards across the country have sparked a wave of excitement and impatience. One of the latest billboards, simply reading “BabyBoi,” has led to a flurry of social media reactions.
Fans took to X (formerly Twitter), expressing their annoyance with the vague messaging. “Give us the damn date then u can do this edging shit,” one user tweeted, echoing the sentiment of others who feel the constant teasing is going too far. “HE DONT NEED NO MORE PROMO JUST DROP A DATE AND THATS GOOD ENOUGH,” another fan added.
Despite the complaints, some fans are analyzing the latest billboard, speculating that “BabyBoi” could be a reference to the album’s tracklist or even an Easter egg for a song title. “Yall still don’t think that’s the tracklist they showing?” one fan speculated.
Playboi Carti has promised that I Am Music would drop in 2024, and although he performed several new tracks at Rolling Loud’s 10th Anniversary in December, fans have yet to receive a concrete release date. On February 17, billboards popped up in Los Angeles and Miami, featuring the phrase “Music Is Coming” alongside a Spotify logo, but still offering no additional details. The growing anticipation has left many eager for Carti to finally drop the highly awaited project.
