Rilo Kiley has unveiled the full tour dates for their highly anticipated reunion tour, marking the band’s first major trek since 2008. The indie rock icons, featuring Jenny Lewis, Blake Sennett, Pierre De Reeder, and Jason Boesel, will kick off their tour on May 5 at the Fremont Theatre in San Luis Obispo, California.
The band will also play their previously announced festival appearances, including Just Like Heaven on May 10 and Kilby Block Party on May 16, with a notable stop at the renowned Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado, where Julien Baker and Torres will open the show. Later in the fall, they will return for a series of East Coast and Southern dates.
Reflecting on the reunion, Lewis expressed excitement, saying, “It’s going to be wonderful for us, like going back to the purest version of yourself. It takes me back to that early ‘20s place when everything felt possible.” She fondly recalled the early days of the band, reminiscing about long van rides and working on new songs together.
Additionally, Rilo Kiley will release a special reissue of their 2002 album The Execution of All Things on April 25 via Saddle Creek. The “Frozen Lake Edition” will include deluxe LPs, featuring cloudy transparent and cream vinyl, along with a bonus edition 7-inch.
Tickets for the reunion tour go on sale this Friday.
