The Rock 2000 is set to return to Spark Arena on September 26th, and this year’s event promises to be even bigger and better than last year’s 25th anniversary celebration. The highlight of the evening will be a one-of-a-kind performance by Blindspott, accompanied by a 30-piece orchestra.
The iconic Kiwi rock band will perform their debut, self-titled album in its entirety, enhanced by the powerful sounds of the Philharmonic Orchestra. The triple-platinum album features massive hits like “Nil By Mouth,” “Phlex,” and “Room to Breathe,” and fans are eagerly anticipating how these tracks will sound in this unique setting.
“This isn’t just another gig—it’s the highlight of the rock ‘n’ roll calendar,” said Brad King, the boss at The Rock. “Every year, we put our hearts and souls into this event—months of planning, late nights, loud music, and even louder opinions. But it’s all worth it when we hear 6,000 fans singing every lyric back to us.”
Voting for The Rock 2000 will begin in August, with the countdown running from September 1st to September 26th. The event will feature a packed lineup of live performances, culminating in the announcement of the number one song, which will be revealed as part of “Bogan’s Christmas” at Spark Arena.
Blindspott with the Philharmonic Orchestra is just the first act to be announced, so fans can expect more exciting announcements in the coming months. Early bird tickets will be available starting Friday, April 11th at 9am, with general sales opening on Monday, April 14th.
