Drake has thrilled fans by finally setting a release date for his new album ‘For All the Dogs’.
The rapper and singer has been teasing the release of his new record – the follow-up to 2022’s “Honestly, Nevermind” – for weeks, recently revealing artwork drawn by his five-year-old son Adonis and telling his followers the album would be “out soon” – but he’s now confirmed the release date will be earlier than expected, with the album set to drop on September 22.
Drake made the announcement on Instagram by sharing an old video of his singer dad Dennis Graham performing on the 1990s Canadian TV series Stormy Monday With Danny Marks, captioning it: “For All The Dogs September 22.”
The chart-topping star previously confirmed a new album was on the way in June, after revealing he had also co-written a book of poetry titled ‘Titles Ruin Everything’. In a social media post, Drake wrote: “I made an album to go with the book. They say they miss the old Drake girl, don’t tempt me. FOR ALL THE DOGS.”
Last month, Drake teased that he had “gotten a chance” to “listen” to the finished album and that it would be “coming out real soon. The “Rich Flex” star spoke to the crowd at his concert at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, on August 16. He also teased that a collaboration with Latin superstar Bad Bunny – real name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio – will appear on his eighth studio album.
Speaking at the same Los Angeles venue on his ‘It’s All A Blur’ tour, Drake told the crowd: “I want to say something to you because you’re L.A. and we love you. It’s been like six years since me and Benito made a song. So we’ve got a song for y’all on my album. Bunny, who previously collaborated with the rapper on “Mia” from his 2018 debut album X 100pre, was in attendance at the concert.
