Liam Gallagher, the iconic voice of Oasis, has hinted at the possibility of reconciling with his brother Noel Gallagher and reuniting the legendary Britpop band, Oasis, which disbanded following a backstage altercation in Paris back in 2009. Despite years of animosity between the siblings, Liam Gallagher believes that Noel may be nearing a point of reconciliation.
In a recent interview with The Sunday Times, Liam, 51, expressed his conviction that Noel, 56, should take the initiative in reaching out for a potential reunion. “He knows I’m not going to call him,” stated Liam, highlighting Noel’s role in the band’s breakup. “He’s the one who split the band up, so he’ll be doing the calling, and if there is no calling we won’t be getting back together.”
However, Liam remains optimistic about the prospect of a reunion, particularly in light of changes in Noel’s personal life following his divorce from wife Sara last year. “To be fair, though, I can see it happening,” Liam remarked. “Now things have changed in his personal life, I can see him looking back, not looking back in anger, and going, ‘Do you know what? I was really mean to my little brother. Now it is time for me to send him a box of chocolates.'”
Reflecting on the possibility of a reunion, Liam emphasized his love for his brother and family, expressing regret over the breakup of Oasis. “I love my brother, I love my family, and all that Oasis stuff, there was no need for it,” he stated. “Maybe someone can get a bit tetchy on tour. Maybe someone drinks a bit too much. But we didn’t have to split up over it.”
Despite their past conflicts, Liam holds no grudges and envisions a harmonious reunion, suggesting that if Oasis were to get back together, he would happily share the stage with Noel. “I don’t hold grudges, man, and if Oasis got back together it would be great because I would only have to sing 15 songs and he could do the rest. I could do that standing on me head.”
In the meantime, Liam Gallagher is gearing up for the release of his collaboration with ex-Stone Roses guitarist John Squire, set to debut on March 1st.
