Cher, the iconic singer behind hits like “Believe,” is set to be honored with the Icon Award at the upcoming 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards. The announcement was made on Monday, with the ceremony scheduled for April 1st.
According to a press release, iHeartRadio is recognizing Cher for her unparalleled contributions to music and pop culture spanning over seven decades. With a career that has seen her sell more than 100 million records, Cher stands as the only artist to achieve a No. 1 single on the Billboard charts for seven consecutive decades.
Past recipients of the prestigious Icon Award include music legends like Elton John, Jennifer Lopez, Bon Jovi, and Pink.
In addition to Cher’s recognition, it was revealed that Justin Timberlake and Jelly Roll are among the performers slated to take the stage at the ceremony. Other performers include Tate McRae, Green Day, Lainey Wilson, and TLC.
Cher also finds herself among this year’s nominees for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, alongside fellow music luminaries such as Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, Lenny Kravitz, Sinéad O’Connor, Ozzy Osbourne, Kool & the Gang, and Oasis, among others.
The 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards will be broadcast live from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on April 1st.
