Angel Carter, twin sister of the late Aaron Carter, and producer Aaron Pearce have unveiled Aaron’s posthumous track, ‘Recovery’.
Aaron, who tragically passed away at 34, was discovered in his California residence in November 2022. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s report in April 2023 identified drowning, following the inhalation of difluoroethane and the ingestion of alprazolam (generic Xanax), as the cause of his demise. The report noted that the effects of these substances rendered him incapacitated in the bathtub, leading to his drowning.
Now, 18 months following his untimely death, his twin sister has honored his memory by releasing ‘Recovery’. This poignant track will be part of the upcoming album ‘The Recovery Album’, featuring music recorded over a decade ago, as reported by Rolling Stone.
A significant portion of the album’s proceeds will support mental health nonprofit The Kids Mental Health Foundation and a trust dedicated to Aaron’s son, Prince Lyric Carter.
Angel Carter shared her thoughts on ‘CBS Mornings’, stating, “The fans have been clamoring for the music. After Aaron’s passing, we organized a benefit concert called ‘The Songs for Tomorrow Concert’, where we debuted ‘Recovery’. The response from fans urging us to release this music has been overwhelming. And now, here we are.”
