Ice Spice, known for hits like ‘Pretty Girl’ and ‘Munch,’ has cited her mother as the primary inspiration for her album. She described her mom as embodying “the ‘Y2K’ aesthetic in its truest form” with duck nails, a tramp stamp, and brown lip liner. In an interview on The Zane Lowe Show, Ice Spice expressed gratitude for her mother’s influence and mentioned the internet as another source of inspiration.

The rapper also shared her apprehension about sampling Sean Paul’s 2002 classic ‘Gimme the Light’ for her track ‘Gimme A Light’ on the upcoming album. “I was really nervous because we really wanted to have a very authentic Y2K sample in there, and Sean Paul, he’s legendary,” she said. “Thankfully we got it cleared. Shouts to Sean Paul. He’s so real.”
