David Beckham has put an end to speculation about a potential Spice Girls reunion. The rumors began after the former girl group gave an impromptu performance of their 1998 single “Stop” at Victoria Beckham’s 50th birthday celebration in April. This led to suggestions that the five members might reunite for a tour.
However, Victoria’s husband, David Beckham, has clarified that such a reunion is not in the cards. Speaking to Variety magazine, Beckham stated, “Unfortunately, that’s not happening.” This came after he shared a video of the women singing together on his Instagram account earlier this year.
“Victoria was thrilled to see the girls. It was a significant part of her life, but all the girls have their own commitments,” he explained. “They will do certain things together at certain times.” Beckham added, “I know it’s what people want, but in all honesty, I think I was the most excited of anyone.”
He expressed his joy at seeing “all of the girls in one room,” noting that they hadn’t been on stage together for over 15 years. “To have them all there, to have them all up on stage, to have our youngest son playing guitar—it was amazing.”
David also highlighted Victoria’s busy schedule, running her beauty and fashion brands, Victoria Beckham Beauty and Victoria Beckham. “If anyone’s busier than me, it’s her,” he remarked.
The last public performance by the group was at the 2012 London Olympics. In 2019, Geri Halliwell, Mel B, Mel C, and Emma Bunton went on tour without Victoria Beckham.
