Coldplay has unveiled “Feels Like I’m Falling in Love,” the first single from their forthcoming tenth studio album, “Moon Music.” The track, produced by renowned Swedish producer Max Martin, was released at midnight and marks a significant addition to the band’s discography.

The new song showcases a pristine production quality, over which frontman Chris Martin expresses his emotions through heartfelt lyrics. The chorus encapsulates his feelings with the lines: “Oh, it feels like I’m fallin’ in love / Maybe for the first time / Baby, it’s my mind you blow / It feels like I’m fallin’ in love / You’re throwin’ me a lifeline / This is for a lifetime, I know.”

Coldplay debuted the song live at Budapest’s Puskás Aréna earlier this week. Fans can look forward to another live performance of the track when the band headlines the Glastonbury Festival for a record fifth time, a performance that will be broadcast to millions worldwide.

Set for release on October 4, 2024, “Moon Music” is a continuation of Coldplay’s 2021 album “Music of the Spheres,” which also featured Max Martin’s production. “Music of the Spheres” topped the charts in the U.K. and Australia and reached No. 4 on the Billboard 200. The album’s single “My Universe,” a collaboration with BTS, achieved the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100. Coldplay has previously seen four of their albums top the Billboard 200.

In the U.K., Coldplay’s success is unparalleled, with all nine of their previous albums reaching No. 1 on the Official U.K. Albums Chart since their 2000 debut “Parachutes.”

Currently, Coldplay is on an extensive tour supporting “Music of the Spheres.” This tour is scheduled to conclude with two shows at Eden Park in Auckland, New Zealand, on November 16.

Chris Martin has been hinting at the new album for over 18 months. In January 2023, he shared with Toronto City News that the band was nearing the completion of what he described as the second installment in the “Music of the Spheres” series. He suggested at the time that new songs might be introduced during live performances that year.

Coldplay is also committed to sustainability with “Moon Music.” According to a previous statement from the band, they have taken significant steps to ensure that the physical release of the album is as environmentally friendly as possible.
