Country music legend Willie Nelson has canceled several upcoming performances in the traveling Outlaw Music Festival on the advice of his doctor.

“We regret to inform you that Willie Nelson is not feeling well and, per doctor’s orders, has been advised to rest for the next four days,” Nelson’s team announced via his official X account on Friday, June 21. In his absence, Willie Nelson’s son, Lukas Nelson, along with the Family Band, will perform a special set featuring Willie’s classics and other songs.

The 91-year-old singer, renowned for hits such as “On The Road Again” and “Seven Spanish Angels,” missed his scheduled performance in Alpharetta, Georgia, and will also skip the North Carolina stops in Raleigh and Charlotte. Nelson’s team anticipates he will rejoin the festival next week.

The Outlaw Music Festival, curated by Nelson, includes headliners like Bob Dylan, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, John Mellencamp, and Billy Strings. The festival, which began in 2016, launched its 2024 edition with the Alpharetta show on Friday and will continue through September.
