Grammy and Pulitzer Prize-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar, fresh from his celebrated Juneteenth concert in Inglewood, attracted a sizable crowd in Compton on Saturday for a music video shoot.
Devoted fans endured the heat, converging at Tam’s Burgers on Rosecrans Avenue, where Lamar captured scenes for his upcoming video “Not Like Us.” Videos from the location depicted enthusiasts energetically chanting along to the song’s chorus.
The release date for the music video remains undisclosed.
“Not Like Us” was initially released on May 4 as a diss track amid an ongoing rivalry with fellow rapper Drake, marking a continuation of tensions between the two artists since 2013.
This video shoot follows closely on the heels of Lamar’s recent “Pop Out – Ken & Friends” concert, a star-studded affair that included prominent local figures and West Coast artists. The event, which was streamed live, drew approximately 17,000 attendees to the Kia Forum.
