Robert Moody, currently principal conductor of Florida’s Lakeland Opera and music director of Arizona Musicfest and Memphis Symphony, is set to join the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra for the 2024/25 concert season under a three-year contract, while maintaining his current conducting roles.
During his tenure, Moody has overseen remarkable growth at Memphis Symphony, expanding programming, recording initiatives, new commissions, and growing the endowment to over $25 million. His leadership has been pivotal at various symphonies including Portland (Maine) and Winston-Salem (North Carolina), along with conducting roles at Phoenix Symphony, Evansville Philharmonic, and Santa Fe Opera among others.
Moody’s international acclaim extends through guest conducting engagements with the Chicago Symphony, L.A. Philharmonic, Vienna Chamber Orchestra, and major orchestras across Canada, Colombia, Germany, and South Africa.
