Drew Parker, the rising country music star, has been reflecting on his journey as he prepares for the release of his debut full-length album, Camouflage Cowboy. Recently, Parker shared insights into his career’s highs and personal milestones with enthusiasm and humility.

Looking back on his early career uncertainties after the 2021 release of his debut single “While You’re Gone,” which saw success on SiriusXM’s The Highway’s Hot 30 Countdown but faced challenges on the Billboard country music charts, Parker acknowledged the unpredictable nature of the music industry. “It’s been a while since I went to radio with a single,” Parker reflected. “You never know if you’re going to get that chance again, so three years later to get that opportunity with ‘Love the Leavin” is amazing.”

Expressing his appreciation for country radio, Parker emphasized its pivotal role in his career and personal journey. “I grew up a fan of country radio,” he recalled. “Getting these opportunities to hear your song on the radio means your career is progressing, which is exciting for me and my family.” Adding a touch of humor, he quipped, “My goal has always just been to be able to pay to repair my air conditioner when the guy shows up, you know?”

As Parker anticipates the release of Camouflage Cowboy on July 12, he reflected on the album’s significance amidst personal milestones. “The album release date is awfully close to my wife’s due date,” Parker shared. “She’s due on July 20, but our first kid was early.” Balancing his excitement for the album and impending fatherhood, Parker admitted, “I haven’t quite thought of how chaotic that week might be.”

Recalling the journey of creating his hit single “Love the Leavin’,” Parker highlighted the song’s immediate impact and the confidence he felt in its potential success. “I have never been more confident of a hit song than when we wrote ‘Love the Leavin’,'” he admitted. “I thought this song was bigger than me, but fortunately, I have a great team who recognized its potential as a career-defining song.”

With plans to perform at the Grand Ole Opry on July 13, just days after the album release, Parker remains optimistic and focused on the exciting times ahead, both professionally and personally.
