Mahesh Kale in Stanford Jazz Festival’s Indian Jazz Journey

Renowned Hindustani Classical vocalist Mahesh Kale took center stage at Stanford’s Dinkelspiel Auditorium as part of the Stanford Jazz Festival’s Indian Jazz Journey. The fusion concert showcased an impressive lineup including Kale, jazz and Indian Classical saxophonist George Brooks, and Carnatic percussionist V. Selvaganesh, among other accomplished musicians.

Kale and Brooks initiated their collaboration for Indian Jazz Journey during the 2017 Stanford Jazz Festival, and the event has since become a recurring highlight co-hosted by Kale’s Indian Classical Music and Arts (ICMA) Foundation. At the recent performance, Kale demonstrated his versatility with a repertoire that spanned devotional songs, bandishes, and ghazals, captivating the audience with his musical prowess.
