Jade Thirlwall, former member of Little Mix, has revealed her debut single, ‘Angel of My Dreams,’ set for release on July 19. Thirlwall, who is launching her solo career under her first name, hopes to surprise listeners with her new track.

In a statement, she expressed her desire for the song to make a bold impact. “What I’m going for is a pop punch to the face. I want people to be like ‘Oh my god, I didn’t expect that’ – but then want to listen to it again,” she said. “I didn’t want to do a safe first single, that was really important to me. I’m setting the tone of who I am as an artist on my own. I want people to hear it and be like ‘What the f*** is that song?’ My worst nightmare is for someone to hear my song and go ‘That’s nice.'”

Thirlwall co-wrote ‘Angel of My Dreams’ in Los Angeles with Steph Jones, known for writing ‘Espresso’ for Sabrina Carpenter, along with Pablo Bowman and producer Mike Sabbath, who has worked with RAYE. The 31-year-old singer is thrilled with the result. “I’m so proud of it and I can say that with chest. The fans have waited long enough so now we just want to give it to them,” she stated.

The single is described as “a frenetically shapeshifting, gloriously OTT banger” that delves into her complex relationship with the pop industry, where she has been a prominent figure since Little Mix’s inception in 2011.

In addition to collaborating with Steph, Pablo, and Mike, Thirlwall has been working on new music with notable artists and producers, including MNEK, Cirkut, Lostboy, RAYE, Lauren Aquilina, and Dave Hamelin.
