Eminem is back in album mode with his latest project, “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce),” set to drop this summer. The Detroit rap icon has been teasing fans with cryptic hints and easter eggs about the album, though specific details such as features and the exact release date remain undisclosed.
The official announcement came after Eminem’s appearance at the NFL Draft in April, where he supported his hometown team, the Detroit Lions. The album’s reveal took the form of an “Unsolved Mysteries” episode, depicting Eminem’s fictional demise while investigating “who killed Slim Shady?”
“The Death of Slim Shady” will be Eminem’s 12th studio album and his first release since 2020’s “Music to Be Murdered By,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, marking his 10th consecutive album to top the charts. Known for his surprise releases, Eminem previously dropped his 2018 album “Kamikaze” without any prior warning, which also soared to the top of the charts.
In March, Dr. Dre was the first to hint at the upcoming project during his first late-night TV appearance in 30 years, revealing that Eminem had a new album ready. As of now, Eminem has not released any new music in 2024, so fans eagerly anticipate the lead single from this forthcoming album.
Stay tuned for more updates on “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce).”
