The Neecia Majolly Centre for Performing Arts has announced the commencement of entries for its first-ever Online Western Music Competition. Open to Indian nationals residing both within the country and abroad, the competition spans three distinguished categories: classical piano, classical violin, and classical singing.

Highlighting the significance of this initiative, the Centre’s founder, a renowned classical pianist, remarked, “There is a notable dearth of such competitions in India. Furthermore, Western classical music deserves greater recognition, both among musicians and audiences. Competitions like ours are poised to invigorate the genre.”

Each of the three main categories is further subdivided into five distinct age groups, ensuring fair competition across varying levels of experience and expertise. The esteemed jury panel includes Neecia for classical piano, Shaiza Aching for classical vocals, and Nourhe Khate for classical violin. Their adjudication will focus on criteria such as musicality and technical proficiency.

Participants will compete for certificates and medals based on their cumulative scores, reflecting their mastery and artistry in their respective disciplines.
