Joe Bonsall, the tenor of the renowned country music group The Oak Ridge Boys, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, in Hendersonville, Tennessee, due to complications from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). He was 76 years old.
Bonsall, a 50-year member of The Oak Ridge Boys, played a pivotal role in the group’s crossover success. He was a distinguished member of the Grand Ole Opry and was honored with inductions into the Philadelphia Music Hall of Fame, the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, the Vocal Group Hall of Fame, and the Country Music Hall of Fame, as noted in an Instagram post by the group.
